"PECES DE PLÁSTICOS" (“PLASTIC FISHES“) is the title of the new exhibition of Wolfgang Trettnak, which is organized by the Centro Oceanográfico de Vigo at the centre of National Park ILLAS ATLÁNTICAS DE GALICIA in Galicia (Spain). It has been created in part in collaboration with the Galician artist Margarita Cimadevila, with whome he is currently also working on the new exhibition "MARE PLASTICUM". Some works of this new exhibition will also be shown.

The exhibition, which tries to combine Art and Science, is dealing principally with the pollution of the oceans by plastic debris. Besides that it is also covering other topics such as, for example, overfishing.

It consists of pictures, mobiles and comics, which have been realized in great part with plastic materials. In many of the works plastic debris has been used, which was found on the beaches of Galicia. The works are accompanied by information on the marine plastic litter and the dangers associated with it.

The exhibition will be opened on 10 November 2014 at 20:00 o'clock with the presentation of Wolfgang Trettnak:

"Peces de plásticos  ¿La pesca del siglo XXI?"

("Plastic fishes - The seafood of the 21st century?")
